Artisanale Fergs Oatmeal Stout 

Oatmeal stout is a luscious black beer with chocolate characters on both the nose and the palate. Our version is based on Fergus McGregor’s fabulous award winning recipe and is a complex blend of base and dark malts and of course oatmeal.

Suggested Yeasts: Bluestone San Diego or Michigan, Wyeast 1084, SAF SO4 or Danstar Windsor or Nottingham.
Bitterness: 30 IBU’s using Warrior hops.
Grist make up: Joe White Ale 72%, JW Chocolate 12%, JW Crystal 5%, Flaked Oats 5% and JW Roast Barley 6%
  1. Start with a clean and sanitised fermentation vessel
  2. Decant FWK drum into fermenter and aerate wort
  3. Add 3 litres of sanitary water at room temperature to bring volume to 20L if desired (individual brewer may choose to reduce water volume to alter starting gravity and ABV)
  4. Pitch yeast as per instructions 
  5. Once fermentation is complete crash chill if desired then bottle/keg, carbonate and condition
