Description
Used in home brewing and winemaking to sanitize equipment. When mixed with water, sodium metabisulfite releases sulfur dioxide (SO2), a pungent, unpleasant smelling gas that can also cause breathing difficulties in some people. As there is now a large number of better and less troublesome sanitizers on the market sodium metabisulphite has fallen from common use.

Usage:
- Mix at the rate of 100 g per 5 litres of water.
- Required contact time is 15 minutes, drain and then rinse with water.
